Background of the Study
Intercultural dialogue fosters understanding and cooperation among diverse cultural groups, promoting peace and social cohesion. Photography has emerged as a powerful medium for capturing and communicating the richness of cultural diversity, facilitating dialogue and mutual respect. In Illela Local Government Area, Sokoto State, photography has been used to document cultural festivals, traditional practices, and community interactions. According to Bello and Abdullahi (2023), photographs serve as a universal language that transcends cultural barriers, making them an effective tool for promoting intercultural dialogue. This study explores the role of photography in fostering intercultural understanding in Illela, highlighting its impact on social harmony and cultural appreciation.
